Rating: 4 out of 5
Jawan is not a film you watch — it is an experience you survive. Atlee has crafted a two-and-a-half hour roller coaster that grabs you from the opening scene and barely lets go.
The Story
Shah Rukh Khan plays dual roles — father and son with a complicated shared history. The film weaves a revenge narrative with social commentary on farmers, healthcare, and political corruption.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Performance
This is SRK fully unleashed. The dual role lets him play warmth and menace simultaneously. His action sequences are convincing and his emotional moments — particularly opposite Deepika Padukone’s cameo — are the film’s finest.
The Action
Atlee’s action choreography is spectacular. The prison break and train heist rank among the finest action set pieces in recent Bollywood history.
What Could Be Better
The second half is slightly overlong and the social messaging, while genuine, becomes repetitive towards the end.
Verdict
Jawan delivers exactly what it promises — Shah Rukh Khan at his most commanding. Now streaming on Netflix India with Hindi dubbing.
