Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt recently opened up about the emotional toll of losing his parents, Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt, and the profound realization that followed. The 62-year-old actor shared his sentiments on the sets of a reality show, where he candidly admitted that people often take their parents for granted, assuming they will always be there.

Dutt recounted a poignant conversation with his mother, Nargis, who urged him to spend more time together. He expressed regret for not heeding her advice, realizing the depth of those words only after her passing. Dutt shared that his mother used to say, ‘Sanjay mere saath baith, mere saath time guzaar (Sanjay, sit with me and spend some time with me)’. Now, he feels that had he listened to her and spent a few hours with her during the day, he wouldn’t feel such remorse.

In a touching revelation from the 90s, Sanjay Dutt disclosed that he initially didn’t grieve his mother’s death. However, it was a tape with her voice that profoundly affected him after two years. The actor emphasized how hearing his mother’s advice and expressions of love brought out emotions he hadn’t felt before, marking a transformative moment in his life.

Despite the passage of time, Sanjay Dutt continues to cherish memories of his late mother, often sharing heartfelt pictures on social media. His candid reflections serve as a reminder of the importance of appreciating and spending quality time with parents, acknowledging their enduring impact even after they are gone.

Owning the spotlight on a reality show, contestant Piyush from Jaipur sang classics like ‘Na Moonh Chhupa Ke Jiyo’ from the 1967 film ‘Hamraaz’ and ‘Aap ke pahloo mein aakar ro diye’ from the movie ‘Mera Saaya.’ Piyush’s performances were so impressive that they compelled Sanjay to give him a standing ovation.

Further praising his performance, the ‘Khalnayak’ actor said: “I applaud you and all the contestants present here as it shows that there is an abundance of talent present in our country! I would really like to thank Indian Idol for this.”

Not only this, but he also gave Piyush a ‘Jaadu ki Jhappi’ in true ‘Munna Bhai’ style. Sanjay played the character of ‘Munna Bhai’ in the satirical comedy-drama ‘Munna Bhai MBBS,’ directed by Rajkumar Hirani, considered one of the cult films in Indian cinema.
