Out of 405 players, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players in IPL 2023 Auction including 4 players are from associate nations. The total capped cricket players are 119, uncapped players are 282 and 4 from associate nations.

The IPL 2023 auction is all set to take place on December 23 with 405 players set to go under the hammer. As per the statement issued by the BCCI, even though 369 players were initially shortlisted by the 10 teams, 36 additional players are added after requests were made by the sides.

Among the 405 players, 273 of them are Indians while 132 are overseas players. Meanwhile, 119 are capped while 282 players are uncapped. Rs 2 crore is the maximum base price and 19 overseas players have chosen to be a part of this bracket. Below is the full IPL 2023 player auction list.

INR 2 crore is the highest reserve price with 19 overseas players choosing to be slotted in the highest bracket. 11 players are in the auction list with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. There are 20 cricketers with a base price of INR 1 crore.

Chennai Superkings, Delhi capitals and RCB, all three have 2 overseas slots to fill whereas 3 overseas players each are required by Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, KKR and Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants Require maximum number of overseas players, 4 each. Sunrisers Hyderabad require maximum number of players (13) whereas with 5 players least number of players are required by Delhi Capitals. SRH has biggest purse with 32.2 crores whereas KKR have only 7.05 Crores to buy 12 players.

IPL 2023 Auction - Ben Stokes

Some of the most expensive players in the IPL have historically been bought at mini auctions. In 2021, Chris Morris became the most expensive player when Rajasthan Royals bought him for INR 16.25 crore (then approx. US$ 2.2 million), which was INR 25 lakh more than Delhi Daredevils’ winning bid for Yuvraj Singh in 2015. In 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders bought Pat Cummins for INR 15.50 crore while Ben Stokes’ first IPL paycheque was worth INR 14.50 crore from Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017.
