Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and director Rohit Shetty have come together for the much-anticipated action-packed thriller series, “Indian Police Force.” As they actively engage in promotional activities alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi, Shilpa revealed an interesting connection between her and Rohit that dates back to their fathers’ friendship.
In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Shilpa shared that her father had assisted Rohit’s father in the film “Yaadon Ki Baaraat,” where he was part of the action team. This family connection adds a special touch to their collaboration.
Shilpa also disclosed that 14 years ago, she was approached by Rohit Shetty for one of the “Golmaal” films, but due to her commitments and Rohit’s busy schedule, the collaboration didn’t materialize. Despite missing out on that opportunity, she is thrilled to be working with him now.
Rohit Shetty explained that the character Shilpa portrays in “Indian Police Force” was initially written for a male lead but was eventually offered to her. Despite her hectic schedule, Shilpa accepted the role and even sustained an injury during an action scene. Rohit praised her dedication, mentioning an incident where she suffered a fracture during filming, leading to a three-month break.
Shilpa’s character in the series, Tara Shetty, is described as a “Shero” – a term that signifies a hero but emphasizes the character’s strength and uniqueness. Tara is portrayed as someone who is both beautiful and fearless, passionate and compassionate, and dedicated to her work.
Set in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, “Indian Police Force” comprises seven episodes and pays tribute to the brave police officers who dedicate their lives to the nation. The ensemble cast, including Sidharth Malhotra, Shweta Tiwari, Sharad Kelkar, and others, promises high-octane entertainment.
With the series set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 19, the trailer has already generated significant excitement among viewers, making “Indian Police Force” one of the most anticipated shows of the year.
