Film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil of Karan Johar gets a lead of Rs. 75 crore over Ajay Devgan starrer vs Shivaay box office:

ae dil hai mushkil vs shivaay

It was the biggest clash at the box office this year. Even before Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay opened on the Diwali weekend, the audience had picked their side. And while both of them gave a tough competition upon their release, it left the viewers in a dilemma as to which one to watch first. After a neck-to-neck race at the ticket counters, the verdict is out, Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is ahead in terms of its collections as compared to Ajay Devgan’s Shivaay and with a huge margin.

Shivaay managed to beat ADHM in its second weekend collections. But the happiness for its makers was only momentary. Soon we got the figures from trade analyst Taran Adarsh who confirmed that the KJo film has entered the Rs 100-crore club in its week two. Still, there remained hope for Shivaay in the overseas bracket.

The romantic drama film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has earned $10.2 million (Rs 68.06 crore gross) while the India figures stand at Rs 138.78 crore. The total worldwide business is Rs 206.84 gross. Along with Taran Adarsh, Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios also confirmed the figures for ADHM.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Shivaay has grossed approximately Rs. 131.1 crores globally. Which means it lags behind ADHM with Rs. 75 crores.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has emerged a clear winner despite the tremendous controversy it faced with the MNS.

While Shivaay is the story of a mountaineer and his relationship with his daughter, ADHM deals with love, friendship and heartbreak.

Ever since the trailers of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay hit the web, their fans were waiting for the films. Student Of The Year, Karan’s last full-length feature film, was released in 2012. That is, if you don’t count the short segment that Johar had directed for Bombay Talkies in 2013. For Ajay Devgn, the last directorial stint happened back in 2008, for his home production U Me Aur Hum.
